Rakesh Kumar's edge was never a powerful network or a prestigious pedigree. It was depth. While most peers chose a single discipline, he earned a triple postgraduate qualification — M.Com, MBA and M.Sc. — building an unusually broad academic foundation in commerce, business administration and applied science. He then channelled that foundation into the most demanding corner of professional practice: US taxation for non-residents and foreign business owners — a niche few in India had genuinely mastered.
His early career was spent as a tax consultant under US-based firms — advising American clients on federal tax compliance from Greater Noida. He saw everything from the inside: the rejected LLC applications, the wrong entity choices, the bank accounts that never opened, the IRS notices that blindsided founders who didn't know what they didn't know. He studied every failure as carefully as every success.
His reputation opened doors into some of the most respected names in US professional services — engaging as a freelance consultant with Big 4 accounting firms and working alongside US-based attorneys and federal tax firms. These engagements demanded precision at the highest level and sharpened his expertise into something rare: the ability to handle complexity that most advisors simply refer away.
When the pandemic paused the world, Rakesh accelerated. He founded Koshika LLC — named after his elder daughter — structuring it deliberately as a holding company from day one. Not a single consultancy. A platform. One from which multiple expert-led brands could be built, each serving a distinct professional services need, all sharing the same founding philosophy: personalised, expert-led, and built for the long term.
Clients didn't just want a US LLC. They wanted to understand their global options — and they wanted one trusted expert to guide them through all of it. Rakesh responded by expanding Koshika's coverage to UK, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE and beyond. In 2024, Koshika launched CompanyVista — its dedicated global company registration brand — alongside five specialist sister brands, each tackling a different vertical with the same Koshika standard of expertise.
